A4 Homes is a property discovery platform for the Egyptian market. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It describes the behaviour of the application as built.
01Information you give us
We collect only what a specific feature needs:
- Account: your name, email address, an optional phone number, and a password. Passwords are never stored in readable form — only a salted scrypt hash is saved.
- Saved properties: the listings you choose to save to your account.
- Inquiries: the property you are asking about and the message you write.
- Contact form: your first name, last name, email address, subject, and message.
- Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe.
02Cookies and local storage
This application sets two cookies and writes three values to your browser's own storage, listed below in full. It sets no advertising cookies and includes no third-party tracking scripts, and nothing in the browser storage is sent to our servers.
- a4h_session
- Essential. A signed session token that keeps you logged in. HttpOnly, so scripts on the page cannot read it, and it expires after 7 days.
- NEXT_LOCALE
- Functional. Remembers whether you prefer English or Arabic.
- a4h_theme
- Functional. Stored in local storage, not a cookie, and never sent to our servers. Remembers your light or dark theme choice.
- a4h_draft_*
- Functional. Local storage, on administrative pages only. Keeps what has been typed into a long form so that a refresh or a closed tab does not lose it. Cleared when the form saves, and discarded after 7 days either way.
- a4h_tab
- Functional. Session storage, on administrative pages only. A random identifier for one browser tab, so two tabs filling in the same form do not overwrite each other's draft. It identifies the tab, not you, and it is gone when the tab closes.
03How we use your information
- To sign you in and keep your session active.
- To show the properties you saved, across devices and sessions.
- To pass your inquiry to the sales team of the developer whose property you asked about.
- To reply to messages you send through the contact form.
- To send the newsletter, if and until you unsubscribe.
04Who we share it with
When you send an inquiry about a property, we share the details you provided with the developer or sales team responsible for that property. That sharing is the purpose of the inquiry.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
05How we protect it
- Passwords are hashed with scrypt using a unique salt per account.
- Sessions use signed tokens in HttpOnly cookies rather than browser-readable storage.
- Administrative areas are restricted by role and enforced before the page loads.
06Retention
Account records and the inquiries attached to them are kept while your account is open. A defined retention schedule for closed accounts and historical inquiries still needs to be set by the operating entity.
07Your choices
- You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account.
- You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, at /en/unsubscribe.
- You can clear the cookies and local storage this site sets through your browser settings; clearing the session cookie signs you out.
08Children
This service is intended for adults and is not directed at children.
